Meet my pets!

Monkey (Momo, Monk, Monkey-moo, Pretty lady/girl)
- Adopted September 2022
- 3 years old
- Domestic shorthair
I adopted Monkey when she was 9 months old from a friend of a friend who was looking to rehome her. As a kitten, Monkey was, and still is, fearless, rowdy, and adventurous. As she's gotten older, she's only become more confident and assertive. Monkey isn't afraid to tell it like it is. If she doesn't like something, she'll let you know, in her own way, of course. She's not as sweet as she lets on. To the uninitiated, Monkey may come across as feisty and even temperamental, but she is just asserting her boundaries. There are few people Monkey trusts enough to pet and hold her.
Likes: dancing lights, exploring the unknown, kitty go-gurt, a warm lap, plastic bags, the great outdoors
Dislikes: butt pats, belly rubs, loud noises, authority figures, (i.e. the vet), empty food bowls

Fig (Figgy pud, Figgy pudding, Figbert, Figaro, Goob, Goobalini)
- Adopted November 2024
- 1 years old
- Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix
Fig is the newest addition to our lil' family. We adopted him from a local shelter whose mission it is to find furever homes for pets with disabilities. Fig is a double/homozygous merle, meaning that he inherited two merle genes, one from each parent. This resulted in him being born completely deaf and partially blind.
Navigating the world as a deaf and blind pup can be tough. Fig struggles most when it comes to meeting strangers and socializing with other dogs. In unfamiliar territory, he is shy and timid. Everywhere else, he is self-assured. Fig prefers the sights and smells of things he recognizes to those he does not. When he is around people he knows, for example, he is exceptionally loving and, at times, needy. There's nothing Fig loves more than to be surrounded by loved ones.
Likes: sleeping in, fetch, peanut butter, snuggles, sun bathing, tug-of-war, sniffing around
Dislikes: jump-scares, being alone, suspicious shadows, goodbyes, confined spaces, baths
